This Privacy Policy explains how RunPass Media and the National Clearinghouse of College Recruiting (collectively, "RunPass," "NCCR," "we," "us," or "our") collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit this website, subscribe to our communications, submit a story or athlete profile, communicate with us, or otherwise use our media and recruiting-related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact and account information: name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, organization, school, and similar contact details.
  • Athlete and recruiting information: position, school, graduation year, height, weight, verified measurables, athletic results, event participation, evaluations, game film, photographs, biography, awards, coach information, and parent or guardian contact information.
  • Stories and other submissions: text, images, audio, video, links, testimonials, and other materials you choose to provide.
  • Communications: messages, requests, feedback, and correspondence you send to us.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, dates and times of access, approximate location derived from IP address, and security or diagnostic information.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: information described in our Cookie Policy.

We may also receive recruiting or media information from parents, guardians, coaches, schools, event operators, evaluators, business partners, and publicly available sources. Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, medical records, or other information that is not reasonably necessary for the Services.

2. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
  • review, verify, organize, and publish athlete profiles, evaluations, and stories;
  • connect athletes, families, coaches, evaluators, events, and college programs;
  • respond to questions, submissions, support requests, and business inquiries;
  • send newsletters, recruiting updates, and other communications you request;
  • produce and distribute editorial, promotional, and recruiting-related content;
  • detect fraud, misuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service;
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others; and
  • create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal information as necessary to provide requested Services or perform a contract, with your consent, to comply with law, or for legitimate interests such as operating and securing the Services, communicating with users, evaluating athletes, and producing relevant media—provided those interests are not overridden by your rights. You may withdraw consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect processing already completed.

4. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • College programs and recruiting participants when relevant to an athlete evaluation, recruiting profile, event, or service requested by the athlete, parent, guardian, coach, or authorized submitter;
  • Service providers that support hosting, security, communications, content distribution, analytics, form processing, and other business operations;
  • Media, event, and business partners when needed to provide a requested service, produce content, administer an event, or pursue an authorized opportunity;
  • Legal and safety recipients when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request; enforce our agreements; investigate misuse; or protect people, property, and rights; and
  • Transaction participants in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Athlete profiles, stories, photographs, videos, and other content intended for publication may be publicly available and may be viewed, copied, or reshared by others. We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not currently use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable privacy laws.

5. Third-Party Content and Services

The Services may include links, videos, social-media posts, or other content provided by third parties such as YouTube, Spotify, X, Instagram, and TikTok. These providers may collect information directly from your browser, set their own cookies, or associate your visit with an existing account. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not this Privacy Policy. You can avoid some third-party collection by not interacting with embedded content and by adjusting your browser or platform privacy settings.

We and third-party providers may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the Site, maintain technical sessions, load embedded media, and understand site performance. For more information and available controls, review our Cookie Policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Services, maintaining accurate recruiting and editorial records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal, accounting, or security obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the relationship involved, whether content has been published, and applicable law. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information where permitted by law.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using appropriate care when sending personal information online.

9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; to opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising; to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; or to appeal a decision on a privacy request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

To make a request, email privacy@runpassmedia.com and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law. If information concerns a minor athlete, a parent or legal guardian may contact us to request review, correction, or removal. Some requests may be limited by law, the rights of others, or legitimate editorial and recordkeeping needs.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. Service-related messages may still be sent when necessary. Browser and cookie controls are described in our Cookie Policy.

10. Children and Minor Athletes

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without the authorization and consent required by law. A person under 13 must not submit information through the Services. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Many student-athletes featured through NCCR may be minors. Information about a minor athlete must be submitted by the athlete's parent or legal guardian, or by a coach, school, event operator, or other person who has lawful authority and all required permissions to provide it. Parents and guardians may contact us regarding information about their child.

11. International Users

RunPass and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By using the Services, you understand that information may be processed outside your country, subject to applicable law.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice when required by law.
